Best Brownies Ever...Thick, Cake-like & So, So Chocolatey

Well, today's the Super Bowl and I got a request to bake one of my favorite desserts. These brownies are always a hit with family and friends and so easy to make. They are thick, soft, cake-like and chocolatey, just the way a good brownie should be. You can make them with or without chocolate chips and don't forget to serve a good quality vanilla ice cream. Everyone will be back for seconds!

These brownies are thick and delicious!

Here are the ingredients.

Combine melted butter, sugar and vanilla. Add eggs one
at a time and mix with spoon until golden yellow.

Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt.
Gradually add to butter & egg mixture until blended.

Add chocolate chips to batter.

Spread batter evenly into greased baking dish.

Delicious homemade brownies!

Ingredients:

1-1/2 sticks melted butter
1-1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
3 eggs
Pinch of salt
3/4 cup of flour
1/2 cup of sifted Hershey's Cocoa
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:
  • Heat oven to 325º if using 8" square glass Pyrex baking dish; otherwise 350º if using metal pan. Grease dish/pan with cooking spray.
  • Combine melted butter, sugar and vanilla in bowl and mix well. Add eggs one at a time and beat with spoon until golden yellow.
  • Combine flour, Hershey's cocoa, baking powder and salt. Gradually add to the egg mixture until well blended.
  • Fold in chocolate chips and blend.
  • Spread batter evenly into prepared dish.
  • Bake 40 minutes (depending on your oven) or until the brownies begin to pull away from side of dish/pan.
  • Cool the brownies completely on wire rack.
  • Cut into 9 squares for larger brownies.
  • Sprinkle powdered sugar on top is desired. Enjoy!
GG's tip:  For easier cutting, use a plastic serrated knife. Your brownies will cut evenly without sticking.
